Chevron Braid Around Corners: Preserve the Pattern Direction

A repeated V-shaped braid can make a corner look offset even if the seam is strong. Before cutting, decide whether the chevrons should meet at a point, continue in one direction or deliberately stop at the corner.
Read the construction
Place two short lengths on the pattern with arrows showing the braid direction. Compare a folded turn, a mitred join and a separate corner piece if the trim permits. Mark which method cuts through a complete V and which leaves bulky overlapping ends.
Test the intended placement
Sew each plausible option on the actual base fabric and backing. Inspect the corner from normal viewing distance and from the reverse, then bend it as the product will bend. Check whether the raised braid makes a lump or lifts away from the fabric.
Write the approval record
Keep a photograph of the selected corner with arrows, stitch line and permitted join location. Count each corner in the consumption estimate; a straight perimeter measurement misses trial cuts and pattern-matching loss. Confirm any additional allowance from an actual layout.
