A petal edge can lie flat on a card but change after stitching, turning and garment finishing. Review the trim after the exact process planned for the complete garment. A product photo cannot establish how a raised detail survives heat or handling.

    Read the construction

Inspect and photograph both sides of a relaxed sample before work. Note which petals have free edges, where the carrier band is sewn and any existing curl. Ask for material and care information rather than assuming an ironing temperature.

    Test the intended placement

Sew the trim to the real base and lining, then perform only compatible finishing steps agreed for the full construction. Compare the same marked petals before and after. Check lift, flattening, edge curl and unwanted shine without interpreting an unmeasured change as a certified failure.

    Write the approval record

Keep the approved sewn and finished sample with its exact process notes. If the petals lose the intended relief, revise placement or finishing before production. Any formal durability claim needs a defined method and acceptance criterion.
