Layered discs may create a pronounced ridge where two tape ends overlap. Cutting into the decoration can also expose the ground. Decide seam treatment from a real sample, not a generic instruction to remove every sequin.

    Read the construction

Examine the top and underside of a full repeat and mark which discs are anchored where. Compare the thickness of a single layer, a planned butt joint and the proposed overlap by touch and side-view photographs.

    Test the intended placement

Sew the intended join on the actual fabric and lining. Bend and press only within the material’s confirmed care limits. Check whether the seam stands proud, whether gaps appear between the last discs and whether the edge catches on adjacent fabric.

    Write the approval record

Keep one approved joined sample with its stitch and end-preparation notes. Place unavoidable joins in less visible locations and include their proven allowance in consumption. If the overlap remains bulky, change the join layout before approving the tape.
