Wide Sequin Lattice Trim on Sleeves: Check Scale and Symmetry

A wide reflective band can dominate a sleeve and change its balance when the arm bends. Review two complete sleeves, not one flat length. The catalogue photo shows surface design, while the garment sample determines usable placement.
Read the construction
Measure band width and lattice repeat on a relaxed sample. Mark the decorative edges and any area that cannot be hidden in a seam. Hold it against the actual sleeve pattern, noting whether a lattice cell is cut in half at the cuff or upper edge.
Test the intended placement
Prepare a pair of sleeve mock-ups with the planned lining and seam allowance. Match the lattice at corresponding left and right landmarks, then bend the elbows and raise the arms. Check bulk at the underarm, edge lift and whether the two sleeves still read as a pair.
Write the approval record
Approve a left/right placement drawing, visible width, join position and acceptable cut motif. Calculate consumption for the pair from that layout. If symmetry requires excessive offcuts, compare an alternate starting point before accepting an unsupported yield estimate.
